Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. The Service is intended for use by franchise brokers and consultants operating in a professional capacity.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at nick@getbearing.co if you suspect unauthorized access.

Bearing offers three subscription tiers: Starter ($99/month), Professional ($199/month), and Enterprise ($299/month). All new accounts include a 14-day free trial with full platform access.

Payments are processed securely through LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. By subscribing, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service. We do not store your payment card details directly.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. Upon cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.

New accounts receive 14 days of full access at no cost. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, access to dashboard features will be restricted until you select a plan.

Bearing uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate qualification assessments, brand match scores, nurture messages, outreach drafts, and FDD data extractions. These outputs are informational tools to support your professional judgment — they are not legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for your own due diligence.

AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Match scores, qualification results, and FDD extractions are algorithmically generated and should be independently verified before making business decisions. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI output.

Data sent to our AI provider is used solely to generate responses within the platform. Your data is not used to train AI models.

You may upload Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) to the platform for AI-powered data extraction. Bearing extracts key financial and operational data (Items 5, 6, 7, 19, unit counts, territory type, and more) and applies it to the corresponding brand record.

FDD-extracted data enriches the shared brand catalog visible to all Bearing users. When you upload an FDD, the extracted financial and operational data becomes available to other brokers on the platform. The raw PDF document is also accessible to authenticated users. By uploading an FDD, you confirm you have the right to share this information and understand it will be visible to other users.

AI extraction from FDD documents is automated and may contain errors. Extracted values (franchise fees, investment ranges, royalty rates, Item 19 financials) should be verified against the source document before being relied upon for business decisions.

Bearing generates outreach messages and nurture emails on your behalf. No email is sent without your explicit approval. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all outreach before it is delivered.

You agree to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and all applicable email marketing laws when using outreach features. You will not use the platform to send unsolicited commercial emails to recipients who have not provided appropriate consent. Emails sent through the platform include unsubscribe mechanisms as required by law.

Prospect data you enter into Bearing (names, contact details, financial profiles, franchise preferences) belongs to you. Your prospects are isolated to your account — other brokers cannot see your prospect data. You may export or request deletion of your prospect data at any time.

Prospects who fill out your public intake form are assigned to your account. Their submitted data is stored securely and processed by Bearing's AI agents to generate scores, qualifications, and match recommendations for your use.
